Faith, Fairy Tales, and Other True Things
“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
-C. S. Lewis

Once upon a time, there was a terrible curse and a princess who could not escape it. She would do anything to be free of the pain and fear that plagued her. If only she could remember the stories and the songs her parents taught her about the One who could unravel the curse. If only she knew how to pray, praise, and give thanks.
In Every Trouble is available at kloria.com on July 1, 2026.

A fairy tale has the power to awaken our imaginations while teaching us truth. Every good fairy tale points us back to the the truest of stories.
Once upon a time, there was a Hero who loved His beloved so well that He would rather die than live without her. When all seemed hopeless, and the Hero was dead, something magical happened.
The Hero rose from the dead. He killed death itself so that we, His beloved, would live happily ever after.

Above All Things: The Tale of the King is a story about the First Commandment based on Martin Luther’s explanation written in Luther’s Small Catechism.
Likewise, the second book, In Every Trouble: The Tale of the Curse, explores the Second Commandment and what it means to keep God’s name holy.
Kloria Publishing creates and distributes books, artistic works, and other materials which proclaim the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ and uphold the teachings of God’s Word as correctly expounded in the Lutheran Confessions.
If you enjoy these books, Kloria also publishes The Creed Series by Katie Schuermann.
“Your kids will love this book. (Your pastor will love it, too.) Above All Things…is a noble adventure told in classic fairy tale style. What does this mean? Answer: That this story is is built on simple and deep truths your kids will inwardly digest as they ask you to read it again and again. Jesse Cordes’ art beautifully complements the story’s telling.” -Rev. Timmothy Heath
“An excellent book! Mrs. Rivers draws the reader into the kingdom quickly and takes us on an adventure. She creates a world of realistic characters, and we eagerly seek to read more. She tells her readers the truth and gently instructs us in the ways of the Lord. This book will quickly become a treasure in our home.” -Mrs. Kristi Leckband
“There’s something beautiful about a short, simple story. What makes it even more beautiful is when it has Lutheran themes throughout. This book has both.” -E. Rockhill on Goodreads
