Tales of Truth

“Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.”

-G. K. Chesterton

Children need stories. They need to see good defeat evil. They need to hear truth that withstands lies. They need to imagine beauty that wipes away ugliness. These are the truest stories, and they are worth reading over and over again by children of any age.

I write for my three children, my twenty-two nieces and nephews, my future grandchildren, my godchildren, and all the students I have taught for the last twenty-three years. May you all fear, love, and trust the One with the power to defeat every dragon.
